Ace of Pentacles - Motivation

Have you ever felt like you're so unmotivated you can't get out of your own way? I think we can all feel this way at some point, for a myriad of reasons, and we all have to find ways to deal with it, hopefully in a positive way.

As a soon to be 65 year old Crone and happy to be one, I've learned a lot about motivation. This isn't as a result of being wise. It's simply because of experience, and learning a number of hard lessons along my path and finding the balance between being overdoing it like an workaholic and trying not to be a sloth. I must say I do love sloths, they're just so darn cute.

I'm an admitted coffee addict. I probably drink too much of it, but it helps me get my mojo workin' first thing in the morning. I'm so grateful at this point in life that I have the luxury of not having to face the work world every day with long hours of highway driving to get there like I did in the past.

I can afford to spend time writing, meditating, contemplating my belly button and involving myself in the creative process everyday while drinking copious cups of coffee.  But all this takes energy, and action and so I have to find ways to keep motivated, especially when I just don't feel like doing what I need to do to live a healthy, creative life.

Sometimes when I don't feel like exercising I fight with myself. Then I simply have to ignore that negative Debbie Downer part of my personality, kick her to the curb and just do it any way. This is probably one of the biggest struggles I have these days, but it's getting better and maybe just a little easier.

So when I draw the Ace of Pentacles that embodies raw energy that all Aces represent and the earth shaking force of nature that the god of Poseidon embodies in the Ace of Pentacles, it's a motivating card to draw for the day and I'm happy that I picked it from my deck.

Ultimately, coffee and sitting around waiting for motivation just ain't gonna cut it. I just have get to it and at it, and that's when the motivation happens and where it comes from.

Being the God of fertility, Poseidon will cause you to feel the earth move beneath your feet. His amazing power and raw energy gives birth to a new creative vision that embodies courage and fearlessness.


Poseidon is a natural born, legendary hero, the lord of the physical universe and transforms the immense creative potency and manifests it into the world, which is reflected in an individual's ability to acquire possible material achievement through ambition.

I think this card embodies the combination of having creative vision, and the ability to make money in business.

The head line of this post of course is a joke, but if anyone was up for the job of gettin' jiggy with it, it would be him, who could more than fill the bill, being a fertile kind a guy. Dr. Evil he's not, and he's doesn't need a Mini Me.

Ace of Pentacles - Pennies From Heaven?

Pennies from heaven, is what the Ace of Pentacles signifies. Well not exactly for me, but close enough this week, and I am very grateful. I don't believe pennies come from heaven. I do believe in the Grace of God, and that angels walk among us.

Money can never make people happy, but it can certainly relieve a lot of stress, struggle, and difficulty. I can't really imagine having so much money, you no longer have to worry about it. But I'm certain there are those individuals who do worry about money, in spite of having more than enough of what they need. There is no point in worrying about money, but never being able to make ends meet, it can wear on you, particularly if you are living on a restricted budget or fixed income.

When I was young, I remember very well, my grandfather, who lived through the depression, and I can hear him saying," The rich get richer, and the poor, get poorer. " It has always proven to be true in my opinion. That said, there are varying definitions of wealth and poverty. In the West, some may have an abundance of wealth, but are spiritually poor, and it is often the opposite situation in the third world countries, where there is spiritual abundance, but dire poverty, that we in the North America can hardly begin to comprehend or imagine.

My prayer for Christmas holiday season is that those without enough food, shelter, warmth and family be provided for with love. I pray that those who are spiritually poor, be given a spiritual awakening causing them to be filled with a giving,  loving, open heart, and mind.

Ace of Pentacles - Where To Find Pennies From Heaven

I am feeling very under the weather today, with a real achy, nose running, crappy cold, and I sure don't feel anything like Poseidon, the 'husband of the earth' which his name means. It's is a card that greatly makes me feel hopeful, especially when I am in monetary need.

The message is 'here come pennies from heaven', a very favourable sign, with an anticipated new career, sudden available funds, creative energy, and  growth opportunities, springing from a raw force of nature. Poseidon is a mover, and an Earth-Shake, ruling over the sea and all the water ways.

Well that's good news, because I feel so lack luster, not to mention like my late husband would describe, feeling like a piece of re-fried s_ _ _.

 So now, I get horizontal in my bed! Hoping to feel a whole lot better tomorrow!

The Ace of Pentacles - The Card of Spring

The Ace of Pentacles is the card of Spring. Pentacles or coins represent rewards for past efforts. Here come pennies from Heaven. This is the time of new and tremendous growth. It augers the season for renewal after a long hard Winter. Spring brings with it new energy, and a fresh start. New opportunities and the fruit of your labour is manifested through continuation the life force and cycle, through a new beginning.
