Queen of Wands - Everything Is Going to Turn Out Right

In reality there is no superwoman alive, in spite of the ancient image of the 'superwoman' being embodied in the Queen of Wands.

However humans can gain and actualize the kind of exuberance, vibrancy, loyalty of heart and strength of the creative imagination and vision that sustains the goals our hearts choose. The Queen of Wand's faith and loyalty comes from a deep intuitive conviction that in the end everything will turn out right.

If we have a stability and are self-contained we develop a self-confidence that can be influential.

Drawing the Queen of Wands today is a very welcome card and a great affirmation for me.

Yesterday I was really struggling to see my way through the burden of feeling of isolated because I've been without the funds to buy a vehicle. I can't remember the last time I actually had a car.

 I turned it all over and embraced my feelings of sadness, I relayed this to the Universe as I dug in deep to find the source of my feelings. I wrote in my journal.

 "I'm burnt out  due to never having enough money, being without a vehicle,  feeling isolated and out of touch with others, having to always rely on someone else to get me around and worrying over my bills." 

 Two good friends, a young couple I'd worked for, minding their two sweet children. During Christmas they'd lent me a second used car they'd purchased in the past from a mutual friend before Christmas. They said as soon as they had the use of a company car they would sell me this vehicle for a reasonable amount. I was thrilled as I'd driven the car before and I loved it. However things didn't transpire for reasons beyond their control. I just let it go and hoped that things would somehow work out for the better..

Yesterday, just after I'd written all of my feelings down in my journal, embraced them and let them go, I received the most unexpected news from the same couple. They asked if I still needed a car. I said ah...yes. They informed me they were moving to another province and offered me the same car! They weren't lending me the car, but giving it to me!!! Wow!!! I was completely bowled over, gob smacked, out of my mind with excitement and mostly so very grateful for their kindness and compassion!

I know it's not easy to believe and have faith that everything will turn out right, and some times if feels near impossible, but if we do, I believe some how, in some way everything is going to turn out right.

Queen of Wands - Are you Loyal to Your Own Heart?

I'm happy to draw the Queen of Wands (Penelope). She reminds me to remain and strive to be loyal to my own heart and creative imagination, vision and intuition. This is what brings me happiness, not people, places, and things.

The Queen of Wands represents and symbolizes qualities I aspire too, such as stability, optimism, inspiration, loyalty, faith in intuition, working hard, being strong willed, following my heart and trusting in the strength of my creative imagination to achieve my goals.

Wands are the suit of action and energy. This Queen urges us to live life with exuberance and vibrancy.

Queen of Wands - Beautiful Strong Woman

The Queen of Wands represents having the purpose, mission and goals to aspire to be all that I can be as a creative person. She is a woman of action and focus. She strategically uses methods to actualize her objectives in order to realize her goals. Her purpose and mission directly reflects her values and what she stands for and against.

I think she is my favourite Queen, being spirited and inventive with a strong creative imagination that sustains her chosen goals. Today is the perfect day to draw this card.

Penelope is the embodied mythic figure here who is influential, full of vibrancy, exuberance and holds faith in her intuition and heart. She has a deep conviction that all will turn out right in the end.

Penelope as the Queen of Wands becomes the warmth of the hearth fire, and has been called the Sunshine Lady, bringing light and love to the people around her. She is the ancient image of the 'superwoman'. That said, she is not the type to chase after rainbows or fantasies, but has a down to earth practical stability. She  who is self-contained, and is a beautiful strong woman with, tireless energy.

King of Wands - Heroic Quality

The King of Wands might be the man of my dreams. He represents creative vision, imagination, and a romantic soul. A soul that is guided by a force greater than himself, and symbolizes the influential true spirit of leadership, that is forward looking with great enthusiasm. He is both noble and strong. The King of Wands is what I'd call a man's man, a manly man. ;)

He sets the example of what it means to be a hero. The down side would be that he has a fiery temper, a rather impulsive nature, and can be impatient with others limitations, as he expects humans to rise to the occasion, in order to reach their full potential, and to actualize their capacity in all that they do, so humanity might be more than it is.

Represented by the mythic figure of King Theseus of Athens, he accompanied Jason on his adventure in pursuit and capture of the Golden Fleece. He is willing to do what ever it takes to reach his goals, is courageous and demonstrates many heroic qualities.

Nine of Cups - Wishes - Dreams - Prayers

The Wish  Card is what the Nine of Cups is often called.

We all make wishes and it's something that we learn about as soon as we find ourselves in front of a Birthday cake, or scrambling to be the first one to find that wish bone from the turkey, to dry that wish bone, and make  our wish with someoner, holding on with our pinky fingers.

We wish on that star light, star bright, the first star we see tonight, in the sky patiently waiting for us to wish upon that star. It a magical time, of magical thinking. This is our creative imagination and what dreams are made of.

I remember a certain very imaginative little girl, who was so excited to show me the dew on the lawn, where she'd said she found the Faerie houses one early morning. It's a beautiful thing to live in this magical childlike, world when we believe  that wishes come true. When I was little , I so wanted to go to that land where Peter Pan went, and to fall into the looking glass of Alice's.

I'd never want to take this magic away from children or from anyone, ever, because this is where hope lies.
As we age, or even when we are much too young the harsh realities of life come crashing in. We can however, still hold tight to those wishes and even some magical thinking, and balance these with reality. Wishes for me have become prayers, though I'm certain in my heart of hearts, where that little inner child lives, I still make wishes, and believe they can come true.

Lately I've been thinking  and reading about Tiny Houses, and imagining what it would be like designing, building and living in one. I'm not sure I could do this full time, but I would dearly love to have a wagon to pull around in the summer, with my vehicle or maybe with a team of horses, Canadian beauties, custom made, to look like mobile Tarot Vardo Wagon. That's my wish, my dream, my prayer..

As a kid I'd always longed, dreamed and wished for a horse. Then as I got older I wished , dreamed and prayed for a horse, because I loved everything about being around them. I did fulfill that wish, and dream of being around horses. It came true, and my prayer was answered. The dream had to be adapted for financial reasons, but I worked hard to make it reality. I worked with and rode horses for a two years. It was really hard work, but something I never regretted for a minute. It was one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences of my life and I cherish the memory.

It's important to have wishes, that become dreams, that become prayers, and that's were the magic happens and where magic becomes reality.

The Magician - Conjures Creative Ideas

Ruled by Mercury who the messenger of the gods The Magician conjures up ideas and is the inner guide pointing to our creative capacities within our, mind, imagination, body, and heart

Having an imagination and being able to express creative ideas in tangible ways is the ultimate form of communication in my opinion, a language in and of itself. Here, lying at Hermes feet are all the tools necessary to do this, and are at The Magician's disposal, and at ours as well.

We see the Cup of Fortune, as Hermes is wise in matters of the heart. The cutting edge of the sword represents the clarity and power of the mind. Pentacles signify a stroke of good luck, and relates to all things involving business matters. Finally, the wand of magic with two snakes entwined that symbolize all things opposite: male and female, dark and light.

The Magician is a card full of hope signifying that the Fool's journey is clearly possible, and there are capacities that are yet to be developed.

King of Wands - The Heroes Journey

Heroes always never think of themselves as heroes. Like the King of Wands, possesses  the courage of a lion, with such a soft heart. This rather dual character can create serious dilemmas, and can be difficult to overcome, especially when having to do things that may not feel right, and go against the grain, creating conflict within. Emotion and feelings are placed on the back burner in order to do what must be done. This can sometimes cause guilt, shame and sadness or even post traumatic stress in extreme circumstances.

There is so much to admire about the King of Wands, especially his leadership strength, abilities and creative, energetic spirit that he embodies. The character defects, of impatience and his quick temper can get him into trouble. Combine this with the desire to control and manage is problematic. It's one thing to have leadership abilities, but if these are not tempered with patience, calm, and humility, leadership can quickly be interpreted as being overbearingly bossy, only resulting in alienating the very people one is trying to help.

I have know several men and women in my life that I consider heroes and heroines. Ultimately we all have to learn how to be our own hero or heroine and rescue ourselves  from our character defects and strive to have the courage of the lion, while still keeping that soft heart intact, full of compassion for others and for ourselves. We cannot give away what we do not have for ourselves.

King of Wands - Jumps The Fences In Stride, One Fence At A Time

I have had a run of drawing the court cards this past week. Today the King of Wands came up, one of my favourite cards, because it symbolizes the creative imagination. This card urges me to initiate new ideas, and share them with others, because I do have big a need for creative development. It also reminds me to check my ego at the door, focusing and concentrating on creating work for a higher purpose and vision.

This card is very timely for me right now, as I have been really reflecting on my creative and personal goals, considering the approach of the new year 2015. I am really looking forward to the coming year, and will be very happy to say adios to 2014, as it's been more than a challenge, but I tried hard to take each obstacle as they came, one day or even one moment at a time.

When I was in my early teens I had a friend Wendy, who had a horse. I so much longed for a horse, as far back as I can remember. I would vicariously live through my friends who had horses. Eventually I was finally able to fulfill my dream of being close to horses, at the age of 40, for almost two years. I learned so many lessons about life from living around, and working with horses, as it was one of the best experiences I've ever had, if not the best.

One lesson I learned at thirteen, from my horse friend, was what she related to me about jumping fences. She told me her riding coach said, " jumps were to be conquered one at a time ". She was to focus and concentrate on what was directly ahead of her on the course, living in the moment, not worrying about what fences had been knocked down, and what obstacles were ahead.

After she said this to me, it gave me pause, but I never really related it to life, like I do now.

So this year, I will figure out what fence is right in front of me, take it in stride and get over that one, before I continue on the the next one.

Eight of Wands- Motivation

Oh boy, would I ever love to be swimming with the dolphins, like those we see here in the Eight of Wands.
With full sails set, Jason has safely escaped the wrath of King Aeetes. He has faced and triumphed  the over the obstacles, that are now behind him, and he is homeward bound.

I've always been very fond of Wands, but being the 'awefulizer' I am from time to time, this card tends to concern me when it comes up, the sea look rough and it indicates that everything is moving along rapidly, and that if I don't keep up, I could be left behind! Nonetheless, we are urged to be confident in our forward progress, and for me, the Eight of Wands is really a card of motivation.

 An outpouring, and a release of creative activity is implied, after overcoming tension, anxiety and difficulties. Well that's darn good news, and now, play with the dolphins!

Traveling could be ahead, but this is not necessarily a physical journey, but perhaps a kind of inner travel of the psyche, where we are given challenges that enable personal growth. Personal growth often comes to us through difficulty, meeting the challenge of competition and self-doubt. There is a correlation between conflict and creativity, and this stimulates the imagination. As a result our weakness can become our strength, and transform into further motivation, with buoyancy and the confidence to continue the journey.

King of Wands - Leadership

In spite of the character defects that the King of Wands can exhibit, possessing a haughty and quick temper,  a know it all attitude, with a tendency to be bossy, regardless, he is still an honest, a self-starter, and a natural leader. Full of creative imagination, energy and action. He can back up his ideas and is a real visionary.

We can clearly see the King of Wands has many positive personality traits, that a leader needs. That said, he seems to be a bit of a contradiction. He can be selfish, impatient, and intolerant with other's imperfections, and limitations. He may think of himself as being the general manager of the Universe but simultaneously he can very generous and kind.

When I reflect on the qualities of a good leader, being bossy, opinionated and intolerant of others imperfections, having a short temper, these are not personality traits that come to mind. I think perhaps the King of Wands like this, may have been exposed to a father who exhibited these negative characteristics and behaviours and may have something to prove.
What comes to my mind as a vital leadership quality is one who perceives a leader as being first and foremost a servant, who sets an example, as a role model to others.

The Queen of Wands - Creative Imagination

 
I am very fond of the the Queen of Wands, especially because she is full of creative imagination. To me she is the Wild Woman.
 Often referred to as the Sunshine Lady, however not a stereotypical Pollyanna personality, that many a cynic make fun of, but she has a depth and strength of character, exhibiting a conviction that all will be well. She wears the world as a loose garment with a stable, self-contained, energetic nature.
She neither chases false dreams or illusions, and is her own person, who has a self-confident independence.
Many are attracted to her magnetic and loyal personality, as she is full of life and warmth that she brings to all around her.
 The Queen of Wands does not shrink away from challenge, makes her opinions known, and is a natural born leader, inspiring others. The element of Fire reflects a commanding feminine energy. The Queen of Wands asks of  us to be bold, courageous and determined in all we do.

The darker side to the Queen's personality can be reflected through character defects, such as stubbornness. Because of her ambition and being driven by getting what she wants, she often tries to be superwoman, which can lead to burn out. She may even make a few enemies, along the way to achieving her goals, which are born out in overbearing tendencies and in her fiery, quick temper.
